Questions # 4-7
(Questions one and three gathered nicknames and email addresses for research. This information will not be published. Question two was removed early in data collection.)
4) Do you consider yourself to be:
| N | % | Option | |
| 1 | 354 | 20% | DL only (loves diapers, but no roleplay) |
| 2 | 594 | 34% | mostly DL but sometimes AB |
| 3 | 357 | 20% | AB+DL equally |
| 4 | 171 | 10% | mostly AB but sometimes DL |
| 5 | 179 | 10% | only AB (loves roleplay, generally including diapers) |
| 6 | 12 | 1% | non-AB/DL ageplayer |
| 7 | 12 | 1% | non-AB/DL BDSM enthusiast |
| 8 | 87 | 5% | Other |
The 'Other' option included a blank to fill in. While they couldn't be analyzed statistically, these answers were interesting and enlightening. This question was intended to map of AB/DLs on a single axis, ranging from AB to DL. An 'other' option was provided, in case that single axis didn't capture the range of AB/DL interests. The answers provided showed that there was a substantial list of other axes not addressed by this question. (Some were addressed in later question, and others will be addressed in later surveys.)
Rejecting the AB/DL spectrum, a minority of the surveyees treated the question as an opportunity to summarize their interests in a few words. Some did a pretty good job. As is often the case with surveys, the minorities are as educational as the masses. Here is a sampling of the 'other' responses.

Note: On 26 July 2008, these results were updated after better filters for duplicate entries were implemented. On 9 September 2009, the manually typed year labels for question #6 were corrected. For example, the 1995 year group was previously labeled "1991-1995." The analysis results, such as those presented in The Changing AB/DL Community, were correctly labeled.
