Fast Cars (and the Types of Infantilism)

By BitterGrey

Cars are considered normal: Why are paraphilias considered weird? Cars have a commonality - they are all cars: Why are the paraphilias viewed as divided, splintered, fragmented?

For a little while, please entertain a novel thought. For argument's sake, set aside the notion that cars and paraphilias are different. Please consider the ways in which they are alike. The analogy will provide insight, and perhaps more.

Describing and Exploring Cars

The first thing that is usually noticed about a car is whether it is white or black or red. The first thing we see is the color with which a car expresses itself: It's expression, if you will. Now, a red Ferrari may look a lot like a red Lamborgini, but not a red Buick. However, this doesn't tell us much else.

EXPRESSION EMPHASIS MECHANISM

They all share the same color, but the Ferrari and Lamborgini are shaped differently. Their stance is lower, their curves more graceful. This is because of the emphasis of the cars. Lamborginis and Ferraris emphasize speed. This wouldn't change if they were white or black. A Range Rover, in contrast, emphasizes it's ruggedness. Not all cars need to have a real emphasis. Buicks are mostly just Buicks. Even if you only glanced at a car, its expression and emphasis would be clear.

But what does the emphasis tell us? Much of the time, cars with the same emphasis have similar inner workings; the engines, drivetrains, etc. These parts that drive and direct the car are called the mechanism . Many rugged cars have large wheels and four-wheel-drive. Fast cars, like the Lamborgini, usually have a manual transmission and rear wheel drive. Of course, just as not all red cars are fast, not all fast cars are the same. For example, unlike the Ferrari, the Corvette's engine is in front. The internal mechanism, what drives and directs the car. It is often indicated by the expression and emphasis.

APPLICATION OF THE CAR ANALOGY

OK. So we've discussed how to look at a car and get an idea of what's under the hood. Stuff you already knew. Where does that get us?

In terms of cars, not very far. However, in terms of paraphilias, it can be quite useful. Most paraphilias are difficult to examine, so we often only have it expression and emphasis to work with. We can also use these to attempt to gain a little better understanding of the mechanism, since we can't pop the hood.

EXPRESSION

Like the color of a car, all paraphilias have one or more expressions. Expressions are how they display themselves, how they make themselves known. They are the direction that the paraphilic

Since this is an infantilism page, it seems reasonable to focus on infantilistic expressions: Wearing diapers, being nursed, getting spanked, etc. Infantilism, like most paraphilias, is defined by its expression. The possible expressions are endless: having fur, wearing collars, wearing dresses, being eaten, being a chicken, being a female, touching rubber, being scolded, getting castrated, being a circus animal, being a castrated circus animal wearing a dress and collar while being scolded, etc. Variations occur in any number of directions, and variations of variations occur.

It is a superficial way of describing paraphilias, but it is a place to start. However, all cases of infantilism are not the same, just like all red cars are not the same. If we compare different cases, we will start to see the differences in emphasis.

EMPHASIS

There are three basic emphases in infantilism: ~vestism, masochism, and fetishism. These are illustrated by the three following scenes. Note that in all the scenes, the basic elements are common, just as the basic elements in cars are common. They differ by emphasis.

Of course, like cars, most people aren't one extreme or another, but a mix with varying degrees of emphasis. For discussion's sake, let's consider cases with a strong emphasis, and that have yet to be influenced by other factors.

VESTISM

Vestism is the change in role - a person becomes something different, even if only for a time. This emphasis is like transvestism, except the expression is different. Transvestites become feminine and dress the part. ~vestic infantilists take on the clothing, mindset, and behavior or babies. They may or may not change gender during the transformation.

I can imagine what it would be like. I'm watching TV, and was wearing just a diaper and a T-shirt. My wife wasn't due back from her trip for another couple days - she doesn't know about my diapers. Then suddenly, I hear the front door open! I couldn't think of what to do - I just sat there. It opened, and there was my wife. She looked me over and seemed surprised. I..I nearly wet myself. She smiled.

She went into our bedroom and brought out a cord. I got up. "It's not what.. What you think" I meekly stammered.

"Put your hands behind your back" she asserted. I couldn't think of what else to do so I did. She tied my wrists together firmly. Next, she got a belt from the dresser and sat on the bed. My mind was racing. She drew me across her lap. "You know, all these years, I wondered if there was a soft spot under that hard exterior" she whispered into my ear. She ran her finger along my back, which made me more confused than ever. "I'm upset that you hid this sweet little boy from me" she added. Her gentle hand then released my diaper. I thought to squirm but it was too late. She held me firmly, and lashed the belt against my fragrantly powdered backside. It stung, it chiseled away at me. I was soon crying helplessly in her lap.

Then she stopped, and put my diaper back on. "There, there baby. Don't ever hide from me again." She turned me and held me close - I just wept. I had hidden this side of myself for so long. It felt wonderful to let it show, to feel her soft caress.

SADOMASOCHISM

In contrast to vestism, where the role changes, masochism emphasizes a loss of control or status. The masochist may be bound, beaten, humiliated, exposed, forced to do things, or acted upon like a plaything.

A masochist may end up in a dress, but unlike the vestite, he is humiliated. He has not changed to a feminine role, but has been deprived of his manhood. A masochist may be urinated upon, but unlike the urophile, he endures it because he is helpless to stop it.

Since these are all fantasies, their authors all enjoy them. However, they enjoy different aspects of the fantasies more. These aspects - the emphasis - are amplified and focused on.

She smiled evilly.

She went into our bedroom and brought out a cord. I got up. "It's not what.. What you think" I meekly stammered.

"Put your hands behind your back - or I'll have to tell your friends" she asserted. I couldn't think of what else to do so I obeyed. She tied my wrists together tightly. Next, she got a belt from the dresser and took me by the ear. I knew what was coming, so I tried to pull away. I couldn't. She drew me over the bed. "I'll teach you to try to keep secrets from me" she lashed, "you big baby." Face-down, I tried to free my hands, but only felt the cords dig into me. She placed one hand on the back of my head, and pressed it into the quilt. I couldn't see. The other went down and undid the diapers. They dropped away, to reveal my bare and helpless behind. I struggled blindly, but there was nothing I could do. Then she started whipping me with the belt. I cursed at her, but she just whipped me harder. "You know, after all these years, it might be time for a change here" she snarled.

Then she stopped, and put my diaper back on. "To start with, you are never to hide your desires from me again. She slid me onto the carpet, and tied my feet to the bedpost. I squirmed a little, trying to get loose. The stripes on my behind stung, but all I could do was to worry about what would come next.

Notice that masochistic elements are common in vestic or fetishistic fantasies. The dreamer doesn't feel guilty for what he, in his fantasies, was forced to do.

Masochism's counterpart, sadism is generally not categorized as infantilistic. For lack of a category, their occurrence is unknown. They may come across as simply paternal or maternal, with a streak of mainstream sadism.

FETISHISM

In contrast to vestism or masochism, fetishism does not focus on a role or position. Fetishism focuses on an uncommon object or feature. A rubber fetishist would become aroused by rubber - perhaps the feel, the smell, the taste, or even just the thought. A nice, feminine rear could also be considered fetish object, except that it is too commonly desired - a 'butt fetish' is considered normal.

Fetish objects either give sexual satisfaction in and of themselves, or are integrated into the sexual experience.

I can imagine what it would be like. I'm wearing just a diaper and a T-shirt, and am playing with myself gently through the thick cotton folds. My wife wasn't due back from her trip for another couple days - she doesn't know about my diapers. Then suddenly, the front door opened! I couldn't think of what to do - I just sat there. There was my wife. She looked me over and seemed surprised. I realized that she was looking at my hard-on, bulging inside the diaper. She smiled.

I got up. "It's not what.. What you think" I meekly stammered. She sat down on the couch, and motioned me to sit beside her. We talked a while. Then when I wasn't thinking, she caught me rubbing myself. She went into our bedroom and came back with a cord. With one hand, she started to rub me, expertly, almost to the edge of climax. She stopped and drew both my hands behind me. She never liked it when I masturbated.

She put her hand on my shoulder and lead me down, across her lap. My cock strained against the cotton padding as my hands struggled against the cords. I followed her - I needed relief.

"You know, all these years, I wondered if you were hiding something" she whispered into my ear. Her voice betrayed that she was getting hot too. She ran her finger along my stiff member. "I always wanted to know what you dreamed about when we made love" she added. Her gentle hand then released my diaper. She held me firmly, and spanked me several times. With each stroke, my member rubbed on the diaper, caught between my crotch and her leg. She smiled at me. She could feel it growing.

Then she stopped, and put my diaper back on. "There, there baby. Don't ever hide your fantasies again." She sat me up and drew me to her breast. Her nipples were as hard as I'd ever felt.

MECHANISM

After the expression and emphasis of paraphilias, the mechanism can be considered. Just as every car has an engine and drive train, every paraphilia has a mechanism driving it. The paraphilias, however, are not as easily understood because we can't simply get under the hood and see. We need to learn about it indirectly. This is especially true in the case of infantilism. Because infantilism is so poorly studied, we need to be more indirect than most. Furthermore, not all infantilists share the same mechanism - just as not all red cars have V-8 engines. Expression doesn't tell you much.

However, we can take things one step further: We can use the emphasis. Not all red cars have all kinds of engines, but most fast cars have V-8's, V-10's, or V-12's, generally in the rear of the car, driving the rear wheel. We don't know if it is an NSX or a Testarossa, but we already know much about it. There are exceptions, of course, but this is a reasonable generalization. Most real off-road trucks have a V-6 or a V-8, in front, driving the front wheels, irrelevant of what continent the were built on. Understanding the emphasis brings us one step closer to understanding the mechanism.

EXPRESSION EMPHASIS MECHANISM
Diaper fetish Fetishistic: focusing on an object or action. Mechanisms common to fetishism.
Infantilism ~Vestic: focusing on the change of role Mechanisms common to transvestism, which is better researched than infantilism.
Infantilism Sadomasochism: focusing on the loss of status or control Mechanisms common to sadomasochism, which is better researched than infantilism.

Furthermore, considering emphases helps to unify the paraphilias. As a result, people who seek to understand themselves have more and more reliable options. For example, someone into diaper humiliations can research by expression, and find almost nothing on infantilism. Alternatively, he could research by emphasis, and find entire volumes on masochism. Categorizing by expression presents a scattered and divided perception of the various paraphilias. Categorizing by emphasis displays more of the unity of paraphilias, making them easier to study and understand.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

We started by illustrating how we perceive cars. First, we see their expression - their outward color. If we get close enough, and have looked at lots of cars, we can discern their emphasis: Is it fast? Is it built like a tank? Is it economical? All cars have an emphasis, but some may be more moderate than others. If we get close enough, we can pop the hood and see the mechanisms - the devices which push the car.

Then, an analogy was developed. Step by step, the expressions and emphases of paraphilias were described. The vague and general notion of paraphilia was anchored in the common and practical understanding of automobiles. This provided the first tool: Paraphilias can be concisely grouped by emphasis. This greatly expanded the research pool, and so aided in understanding. This has particular benefits to paraphilias with rare expressions, such as infantilism. However, we can't 'pop the hood' of a paraphilia to observe its mechanisms.

Finally, the analogy was extended. After all the groundwork, we knew that cars and paraphilias had expressions and emphases, and understood how they were perceived. We also intuitively knew that the emphasis of a car can be used to discern its mechanisms. This observation and the analogy provided a second, powerful tool for understanding and researching paraphilias: The mechanism of a paraphilia is interrelated to the emphasis.

What can we do with this? First, given the observable emphasis of a paraphilia, and an understanding of the associations between emphases and mechanism, we can discern the probable, yet unobservable mechanisms. Second, those who's paraphilia has a rare expression, such as infantilism, can research themselves by emphases, and there are no rare emphases.
