Figure Description

Figure number four is a 3D bar chart showing the distribution of indications of a driving condition; distress/impairment, trying to quit, binge-and-purge cycling.

Criterion B, clinically significant distress or impairment, is part of the American Phyciatric Association's definition of paraphilic infantilism. It is based on questions #19 and #20. Struggling was reported in question # 18. Binge-Purge Cycling was reported in question #31.

Questions

14)Was there some event that you think might have originally caused your interest in diapers or babyhood, or did the interest seem to always be there?

  1. My interests were there before, but at some time I realized that I was different; that others around me didn't share the interest.
  2. My interests were probably caused by a specific event (stumbling across a reference to AB/DL activities somewhere, getting introduced to it, an incident of emotional trauma, trying a new kink, sexual abuse, etc.)
  3. My interests started at a certain time, but I'm not sure what event caused them.
  4. I remember acting on my interests in diapers and babyhood, but don't remember when they started or when I realized that they made me different.
  5. I was wearing diapers already for bedwetting or incontinence, and noticed that I was starting to enjoy wearing them or being a baby.
  6. I decided to try adding diapers or babyhood to my existing ageplay, BDSM, fetish, etc., interest.
  7. None. I've never had an interest in diapers or babyhood.

16)How would you describe what happened?

18)Did you ever seek a "cure" or resist the urges?

  1. Yes, and I am "cured." (please include an email address above!)
  2. Yes, and am still struggling.
  3. Yes, but found that it could not be cured, or that removing it would destroy too much of myself.
  4. Yes, but realized that being an AB/DL wasn't a "disease" and so didn't need to be "cured."
  5. Yes, but stopped seeking a cure for other reasons.
  6. No, I never sought a cure and didn't struggle against the urges.

19)Has there been a period of more than six months, where your interest in diapers and babyhood (or BDSM, fetishism, etc.) has caused you significant distress? This might involve concern over your inability to control your interests, anxiety about what else these interests might mean, stress about how it will affect others, etc.

  1. No
  2. Yes

20)Has there been a period of more than six months, where your interest in diapers and babyhood (or BDSM, fetishism, etc.) has impaired you socially or professionally for over six months? This might involve not being able to concentrate at school or work, because of thinking about diapers; shying away from friends because you wanted to wear diapers in private; damage to your marriage or career from being having your secret interests made public; etc.

  1. No
  2. Yes

31)Were you ever driven by guilt to repeatedly throw away all your AB/DL things (or BDSM toys, etc) and swear that you'd "quit", only to give in and get more things? This is called the binge-purge cycle.

  1. Yes, and am still going through it.
  2. Yes, but I outgrew it somehow.
  3. Yes, but I was able to break the cycle by moderating the binge and/or purge.
  4. Yes, but was able to break the cycle by changing what I thought about myself and/or what I thought about my interests.
  5. Yes, but was able to break the cycle some other way.
  6. No.
