pacifier: noun, A rubber or plastic nipple or teething ring for a baby to suck or chew on.

panty: noun, a garment, usually an feminine undergarment, covering the abdomen from waist to hip. It is usually loose fitting, but drawn with elastic at the waist and leg openings.

paraphilia: noun, a persistent drive toward an unusual sexual practice or social role.  For more information, see

paruresis: noun, the inability to urinate at specific times, such as in crowded restrooms. Also called a "shy bladder." For more information, see Overcoming Shy/Overtrained Bladders.

pinafore: noun, A sleeveless gown that fastens in back, often worn as an outer covering.

prate: verb, To chatter

prattle: verb, 1. To make infantile meaningless sounds, 2. To speak simply and artlessly.

prefold diaper: noun, diaper manufactured with padding in the center to eliminate the need to create an absorbent center fold.

poop: noun, (US, infantile), Feces, verb, to defecate.

poopie: poopie: adjective, (US, infantile), Soiled.

poo-poo: noun, (US, infantile), Feces.

potty: noun, (US, infantile), A small pot for use as a toilet by an infant or young child.

potty chair: noun, (US, infantile), A chair fitted with a small pot for use as a toilet by an infant or young child.

preschool: noun, adjective, A nursery school , pertaining to, or designed for a child of nursery school age.

purge: verb. (In this context) To donate, throw away, or destroy all possessions relating to infantilism. Part of the binge-purge cycle.

receiving blanket: noun, A lightweight blanket used to wrap a baby esp. after a bath.

regress: verb, to adopt the thoughts and behaviors of a younger age.

regression: verb, the process of regressing. noun, the practice of regressing. See regress.

regression stories: stories in which a character, usually the protagonist, is regressed mentally or behaviorally into a small child or infant.

ring diaper: noun, a traditional Japanese cloth diaper woven as a loop so that it can be dried on a peg. These diapers could be wingfolded, triangle-folded, or used as doublers. They were held in place by cords, knots in the corners, or ties around the waist of the diaper covers.

rocking chair: noun, A chair mounted to curved skids to provide a rocking motion, as the chair rolls back and fourth along the skids. A newer nursery might have a glider instead.

romper: noun, 1. A type of overall with a billowing lower half. 2. A type of short sleeved, legless overall where the bottom section is pulled up between the legs and fastened to the waist.

rhumba panties: noun, A type of (waterproof) panty with rows of frills on the bottom. Usually made in the pull-on style, but sometimes found with side snaps. Generally considered to be a baby girl's attire

rhumba tights: noun, Similar to rhumba panties, but with stocking legs. Usually waterproofed with plastic liner in the crotch area.

rubber duckies: noun, A usually opaque waterproof pant used as a diaper cover.

rugrat: noun, (US, slang), A small child whose chief method of locomotion is creeping or crawling on the floor.
